Admission to SMOT PGPM happens at two levels. At the first level, the applications are scrutinized for screening for meeting certain basic criteria such as, academic track record, performance in the written test, quality of experience, if any, general aptitude for business education, quality of essays and proficiency in extra-curricular activities. An applicant producing valid CAT / GMAT score will be exempted from the written test. At the second level, the candidates, who clear the first level screening, go through the personal interviewing process.

Personal Interviews are normally conducted at Chennai. However, these interviews can be scheduled at other cities also such as Delhi , Hyderabad, Mumbai, Bangalore , Kolkata and Pune during the course of admissions phase.

The final selection is based on the overall performance and the result of selection is intimated to the candidates through a mail or by phone followed by letter of offer of admission.
